Responsibilities of the role

Lifestyle & Social Media Photography

  • Work with marketing to come up with concepts and styling for photo and video shoots based around marketing campaigns.
  • Scout and ensure locations
  • Scout and ensure models
  • Scout and ensure collaborations
  • Direct and style shoot based on social media market research and trends
  • Produce on-brand lifestyle video and photography
  • Produce on-brand, consistent product photography and videography for website
  • Creating sustainable systems of operations
    • Responsible for the back end of our photography dept including organization, archiving, editing, and metadata tagging


Product Photography

  • Work with stylists to produce product photography
  • Ensure photography works for specific products and specific ecommerce platforms
  • Ensure studio lighting and Nikon equipment is used to create consistent imagery
  • Creating sustainable systems of operations
    • Responsible for the back end of our photography dept including organization, archiving, editing, and metadata tagging.


Creative Marketing

  • Managing and creating engaging content for our social media accounts for both of our brands
  • Creating inviting website content to attract consumers and improve SEO
  • Working with influencers and journalists to promote our brands
  • Copywriting for advert text, email marketing and online content including blog posts and product listings
  • Helping to create and implement unique marketing strategy concepts
  • Creating campaigns that appeal to the UK and American markets
  • Creating brand enhancing email marketing campaigns


Skill, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years Photography experience
  • A portfolio of previous photography that reflects ability to adapt to a 
    specific brand personality, with special experience in retail and product photography.
  • Great copywriting and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt to our brand’s voices
  • Knowledge and understanding of all social media platforms and current trends
  • A qualification in a Photography or Creative Writing Course
  • 5+ years experience managing business social media channels.
  • Proficient in Adobe CC specifically Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Premiere
  • An editorial mindset
  • Proficiency in Nikon system
  • Able to provide your own camera and equipment
  • Experience in creating newsletters with a high open and click through rate
  • Experience creating sustainable systems of operations- organization, archiving, editing, and metadata tagging.
  • Highly competent IT skills
  • A motivated and outgoing personality
  • Experience in pursuing press features and managing press relations in UK and North American market
  • Experience producing photography with accompanying branding guidelines
  • Proficient and experienced with studio lighting and natural lighting in photography
  • Experience producing copy with accompanying branding guidelines in brand voice
  • The ability to think both creatively and strategically
  • Experience in market research and producing photography that adapts to trends in UK and USA market
  • Experience in market research and producing copy that adapts to trends in UK and USA market
  • Experience and knowledge in fashion and homewares copy, specifically blankets or woolen goods
  • Experience and knowledge in traditional Scottish Highland Dress clothing
  • Experience and knowledge in copy for traditional Scottish Highland Dress accessories including but not limited to sporrans, sgian dubhs, kilt pins, plaid brooches, hose, flashes
  • Experience and knowledge in writing copy for marketing materials for trade shows and fairs
  • A good commercial awareness as well as an understanding of emerging trends
  • Excellent eye for detail with strong typography and layout skills
  • Computer literate in MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, managing projects in line with changing business priorities
  • Experience in working across two different brands/companies simultaneously
  • Good team work and willingness to help others

The successful candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, a problem solver and able to use their initiative. As this is a technical role, relevant experience is required.

Salary: £17,000 to £25,000, dependent on experience
