Assistant Buyer (Maternity Cover 12 Months)

We have a very exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join our team. The role will involve working as part of the Buying and Merchandising team to help forecast, plan ranges, manage stock, place orders and build relationships with our partners. 


Responsibilities will include

    • Managing daily orders, maintaining suitable stock levels. 
    • Working with Merchandising to ensure orders are placed on time, to the product specification at the best price. 
    • Support the Buying, Merchandising and Design team with range planning. 
    • Researching new suppliers and products, taking ideas/recommendations to the Buying and Design team. 
    • Building and maintaining long term, positive relationships with our key partners. 
    • Negotiating with our partners, and the ability to recognise when a product doesn’t meet standards. 
    • Researching trends and analysing data to help forecast and make informed business decisions. 
    • Working collectively with the Marketing and Design team to plan collection launches.  


  • Ensuring supplier information is correctly maintained within systems


  • Competitor market analysis
  • Quick and effective problem solving. 


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate

  • Buying Experience 
  • Highly competent IT skills particularly with Excel
  • A strong numerical understanding with the ability to strategically evaluate information
  • The ability to think both creatively and commercially
  • Able to multitask, prioritise and execute work to a high standard
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • A motivated and outgoing personality
  • Good team work and willingness to help others

The successful candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, a problem solver and able to use their initiative. At least 1 years industry experience is preferred. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in retail business to have a large and varied role in a fast growing company.

Location: Remote working and our Leith Studio, Edinburgh

Hours: 37.5hrs a week, 8:30-5pm mon-Fri

Maternity Cover- 1 Year contract

Salary £18,500 - £22,000 dependent on experience
