Logistics Manager

We are a small team of creative people who have developed and run  2 online retail brands, The Tartan Blanket Co. & Kilt Society. We’re not an average business and we don’t want to be. We’re young, vibrant, creative and fun! We’re looking for a Logistics Manager to join us and lead  a small growing team to manage our product range.

Responsibilities will include

  • Management and coordination of all our goods movement
    • Coordinating with our manufacturing partners to arrange importing of our products
    • Arranging delivery to our warehouse and offloading
    • Manage our courier partnerships ensuring we are working with the best carriers and negotiating competitive rates
    • Ensuring all orders are adequately packaged and shipped via the correct service
    • Investigating and negotiating rates with new shipping services as required
  • Fulfilment operations
    • Work with our warehouse manager to ensure our warehouse is efficiently and effectively organised
    • Overview of systems and processes to ensure an efficient fulfilment operation
    • Continually assess and evaluate fulfilment opportunities in the UK and ROW to ensure that our products reach customers quickly, efficiently and cost effectively
  • 3PL
    • Implement and manage third party logistics as required
  • Product customisation (embroidery)
    • Ensure we are customising orders in the most efficient and effective manner
    • Ensure workflow around product customisation is robust and efficient
  • Large order fulfilment
    • Liaise with business development manager on large orders from an inventory management, customisation, fulfilment and shipping perspective
  • Health and safety
    • Manage health and safety risks and compliance in our physical operations
  • Leadership
    • Leading and managing a small team to achieve all goals and objectives
    • Developing and motivating the team to work to the best of their ability
    • Leading the team and as a result the company to further growth and success

The successful Candidate will be able to demonstrate

  • Experience of and passion for logistics and fulfilment
  • The ability to think both creatively and strategically
  • Highly competent IT and numerical skills - Excel experience is a must
  • Strong, positive, proven leadership and management skills
  • Be motivated and proactive
  • Good team work and willingness to help others
  • Good knowledge of current Health and Safety requirements

For this position we are looking for someone who is excited to be part of this creative, fast growing company and ready to help lead this function to the next level. It is crucial that applicants applying for this role have experience managing or leading a team and have worked within logistics, warehousing or fulfilment industry for a minimum of 3 years. Although the team is currently small we see this as a huge opportunity to be at the start of something huge and very exciting.

Details

Location: Leith Studio, Edinburgh with some remote working

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30-5:00pm

Salary: negotiable dependent on experience
