We are a small team of creative people who have developed and run  2 online retail brands, The Tartan Blanket Co. & Kilt Society. We’re not an average business and we don’t want to be. We’re young, vibrant, creative and fun! We’re looking for a Buying and Merchandising Manager to join us and lead a small growing team to manage our product range.

Responsibilities will include

  • Order planning
    • Creating and managing our Open To Buy plan
    • Working with the design team to develop a range plan
    • Work with our partners to place and track all orders needed
  • Sales planning
    • Working with the FInance team to develop cash flow plans
    • Develop and track monthly sales plans
  • Stock allocation
    • Manage stock across multiple platforms
    • Ensure stock holding is as efficient as possible
  • Trend forecasting
    • Work with the design team to identify key trends and impact our orders accordingly
    • Analyse the market to spot new product/trend ideas
  • Supplier relationships
    • Develop and manage the relationships with our partners
    • Work with our partners to develop the best products
    • Look for new partner opportunities where needed
  • Product development 
    • Work with our design team to look to improve our products constantly and devlop new products
  • Leadership
    • Leading and managing a small team to achieve all goals and objectives
    • Developing and motivating the team to work to the best of their ability
    • Leading the team and as a result the company to further growth and success

 

The successful Candidate will be able to demonstrate

  • A key understanding of sales and stock forecasting and planning
  • The ability to think both creatively and strategically
  • Highly competent IT and numerical skills
  • Strong, positive, proven leadership and management skills
  • Be motivated and proactive
  • Good team work and willingness to help others

 

For this position we are looking for someone who is excited to be part of this creative, fast growing company and ready to help lead this function to the next level. It is crucial that applicants applying for this role have experience managing or leading a team and have worked within buying or merchandising in the retail industry for a minimum of 3 years having reached at least Buyer or Merchandiser level. Although the team is currently small we see this as a huge opportunity to be at the start of something huge and very exciting.

Location: remote working and our Leith Studio, Edinburgh

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30-5:00pm

Salary: £negotiable dependent on experience
