Business Development Manager

We are The Tartan Blanket Co. We’re not an average business and we don’t want to be. We’re a small team of creative people. We’re young, vibrant, creative and fun! We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join us and lead a small growing team to develop our wholesale partnerships and corporate sales.

Responsibilities will include

  • Wholesale partnerships
    • Develop strategy for growing our wholesale partnerships
    • Source and manage new suitable wholesale partners
    • Developing and improving our relationships with partners to maximise brand exposure
    • Working with our partners and buying team to help develop product range
    • Growing sales through our partnerships
  • Brand Visibility & Trade Fairs
    • Researching and choosing appropriate trade fairs to exhibit our brand
    • Ensure partners and showcase opportunities are ‘on brand’
    • Organising and attending a range of fairs
    • Working with the marketing and design teams to develop all marketing materials needed 
  • Corporate Sales
    • Develop strategy for growing our corporate sales business
    • Developing relationships with key corporate sales partners
    • Negotiating corporate sales contracts and terms
    • Working with all departments to manage all corporate sales orders right through until completion
  • Sales forecasting and planning
    • Creating sales plans for our wholesale and corporate business
    • Monitoring sales against the plans
    • Ensuring plans are met or exceeded
  • Leadership
    • Leading and managing a small team to achieve all goals and objectives
    • Developing and motivating the team to work to the best of their ability
    • Leading the team and as a result the company to achieving  further growth and success


The successful Candidate will be able to demonstrate

For this position we are looking for someone who is excited to be part of this creative, fast growing company and ready to help lead this function to the next level. It is crucial that applicants applying for this role have experience managing or leading a team and have worked within a business development or sales function for a number of years. Although the team is currently quite small, we see this as a huge opportunity to be part of something very exciting.

Location: remote working and our Leith Studio, Edinburgh

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30-5:00pm

Salary: negotiable dependent on experience
